Zvonařka Central Bus Station
The Zvonařka Central Bus Station is the main hub of out-of-town bus transport in Brno. The station was built between 1977 and 1988 in a brutalist style and was considered the most shameful part of Brno until 2020, when extensive reconstruction began. Its reconstruction was initiated by the authors themselves and our company participated in it by supplying the lighting control system.
The station is visited by up to 25,000 people a day and handles up to 820 connections, so there is no doubt that it is a very busy area. As part of the refurbishment, a new glass-enclosed check-in hall was created, complete with toilets, information, waiting area and bistro. In order to visually enlarge and illuminate the structure, the structure was painted with a light reflective paint and the roof was fitted with 400 LED lights that not only point downwards but also upwards into the space. The roof has also been renovated and serves not only as a parking lot for buses, but also as a parking lot for 53 vehicles.
During the renovation, efficiency, effectiveness, energy saving and the creation of a pleasant environment for the weelbeing of the users were foremost in mind. Our company designed a combination of Helvar IMAGINE and DIGIDIM lighting control systems for this project, in which routers and energy monitoring for 8 groups were installed, including a scheduler with calendar for 8 scenes.
