Psychiatric Department of Ostrava University Hospital
The new four-storey psychiatry building at the University Hospital in Ostrava significantly helps to improve the quality of life of the mentally ill. It includes a large complex tract for children from birth to 18 years of age, which includes a day hospital for children from 6 to 12 years of age, the only one of its kind in the country. For efficiency, patient well-being and energy savings, our company installed a Helvar system for this reference.
The spacious pavilion also includes 3 floors for adult patients and rooms for physiotherapy, art therapy and occupational therapy, equipped workshops and a ceramic workshop with a kiln and potter's wheel. The new pavilion will allow to increase the number of inpatients from about 550 patients to up to 1400 patients. The total cost of the construction of the pavilion, including the equipment, amounted to half a billion crowns.
For efficiency, patient comfort and energy saving, our company installed a Helvar system for this reference. The Helvar control system included ceiling lighting in the bed rooms with manual push-button or remote control, local lighting above the beds for reading, ceiling lighting in the vestibule including sanitary areas and night lighting in the rooms. The bedside areas were equipped with 100%, 10% or automatic main lighting according to motion sensors and daylight. The circulation areas and stairwells were equipped with 100% main lighting with control from the nurse's station. Greater attention was paid to therapeutic lighting, where the lighting intensity was controlled in the range of 0-100% with a chromaticity temperature of 2700-6500 K. In addition to interior lighting, outdoor lighting and electrically controlled window blinds were also set up.
