Olomouc University Hospital is one of the largest inpatient facilities in the Czech Republic. It is the largest healthcare facility in the Olomouc Region and the sixth largest hospital in the country. The modular architecture of the lighting control system used for Geriatrics offers solutions from a single hospital bed, room or corridor to the entire hospital. By easily integrating with other technologies, a compact solution can be created with the building ecosystem.
High operational economy is ensured by interlinking the functionalities of HVAC, MaR, lighting and shading control. Tailored lighting control is provided by the DALI protocol. An important element of this protocol is the adjustment of the intensity and direction of the lighting in individual rooms.
The intensity adjustment is done automatically based on the external lighting conditions so that the contribution of artificial lighting has the lowest possible energy consumption while maintaining the highest possible visual comfort. Colour temperature control is a key factor here, as it helps to support the natural circadian rhythms of patients and staff throughout the day. Considering the needs of patients and staff, the main benefit of this technology is its fully automated operation with minimal intervention required for exceptional events. In a customised lighting control system, timing is also applied in combination with occupancy monitoring. Comprehensive digital management of the lighting system in its smallest details is possible via visualisation software located at the administrator's premises. Thus, the energy balance of the building can be adjusted in any way and regulated at any time.
