The O2 universum multifunctional and congress centre was completed and opened in 2019 and in 2020 was awarded in competition Stavba roku 2020. In this large awarded facility, our company installed Awex emergency lighting systems.
This new building is connected to the O2 Arena and in 21 halls can accommodate up to 10,000 visitors. The O2 universum building is spread over four floors with a total area of almost 50,000 m2. The largest hall is used for concerts and sports matches, while other rooms are used for exhibitions or commercial purposes. Example of Awex emergency lighting system are the LED spotlights in the grandstand steps, which are powered from the FZLV station – a central 24 VDC battery station. In addition, our company has installed several types of attached emergency lights, a central battery station (CBS) and a PBS sub-station. The CBS unit is equipped with a controller to supervise the operational activity and status of the entire system, and to record all events in accordance with the requirements of ČSN-EN 50172. The system also includes an intelligent charger which controls the charging process and protects the battery from damage, and with which, thanks to the use of an active PFC function, a significant reduction in fixed operating costs is achieved.
